White Sweater And Plaid Skirt – Photo Diary in Malacca Part I

Fashion, Travel | November 27, 2014 | By

SAMSUNG CSCThis style is also featured on Fashion & Style Police

I first visited Malacca a few years ago to attend a girlfriend’s wedding and fell in love with this historical state of Malaysia. What instantly attracted me is the beautiful architecture – Malacca is rich in charming colonial buildings as well as quaint shop-houses and boutique hotels with strong culturally influenced designs. To put it simply, I am in love with the old-world vibe of this small but beautiful state!

So when my husband and I visited Malacca again for a short vacation a few weeks ago, we grabbed the opportunity to take a series of pictures both near and at the popular historical Portuguese fortress, A Formasa –

A Leather Vest And An Artist's Knit Top

Fashion | November 25, 2014 | By

The styles featured in this post is also on Fashion & Style Police

Today’s post features a couple of my favorite looks that I will like to share with all my lovely readers! These photos were taken some time ago but as I really like the styles presented, I wanted to post them up before I forget about them! If you have looked at some of my previous posts, I may have given the impression that I prefer outfits that are pretty and sweet. However the truth is, I love a whole variety of looks and am always inspired to try out new styles whenever possible!

The first outfit is a faux leather vest layered on top of a basic brown sleeved top from Forever 21, a pair of dark blue skinny jeans and lastly, a pair of classic boots. I love that the vest comes with unique chiffon side panels which drape over the hips, creating a more feminine silhouette! The zipper accent helps to add a touch of edginess to the whole look which I thought was quite cool.

The second look is put together based on what I imagine a stylish artist will be wearing! I wore this outfit on a day when I visited a local art jamming cafe to experience drawing and painting on a canvas for the first time. In particular, I love the sleek pointed collar and the creative stripe print placements on the lightly knit top. It is a cool statement piece in my opinion!

Hope you love the two looks featured as much as I do and will be back with a new post soon! Thanks so much for reading!

Plaid Styles – Photo Diary In Japan Part III

Fashion | November 22, 2014 | By

Well, I must admit that tartan designs are not on my “To Wear” list. At least, not until recently.

I used to think that plaid patterns are somewhat too boxy for my taste, but I have grown to love the classic look which is really popular this fall. Hence, I would like to dedicate two sets of my OOTD pictures to this photo diary of Japan. Needless to say, both sets of photos feature my favorite plaid prints outfits –

A Midi Skirt With An Ethereal Touch – Photo Diary in Japan Part II

Fashion, Travel | November 20, 2014 | By

Japan is an awesome place to take beautiful photos and we really enjoyed the process of capturing gorgeous fashion-related images during our time there! Apart from my traditional kimono shots as presented in the previous post, I am also really happy to dress up for the following shots. This photo diary is dedicated to one of my favorite OOTD pictures taken at the famous Osaka Castle.

Special Edition – Kimono Fashion Photo Diary In Japan Part I

Fashion, Travel | November 18, 2014 | By

If you love traditional costumes, a must-have experience you will definitely not want to miss is to try on a kimono in Kyoto, a city located just an hour away from Osaka via train. Not to worry, it is not necessary to purchase a Kimono which can cost a bomb. Kimono rental service is rather common in Kyoto and you not only get the chance to wear a kimono, but also gain a wonderful opportunity to walk around the streets of Japan in one!

Apart from the eating and sight-seeing, the thought of wearing a real kimono was what really thrilled me. Hence, you can imagine the excitement I felt when the day finally came for me to put on a kimono! This photo diary is dedicated to all my kimono shots taken at a well known shrine just a stone’s throw away from where I rented my kimono. Be prepared to be bombarded with lots of images!

A Cute Stripes Floral Dress

Fashion | November 15, 2014 | By

Living in Singapore, it can get really hot at times. However, it does give me tons of opportunities to wear lightweight casual basics and pretty summery dresses. Much as I love autumn/winter fashion, not needing to pile on more overalls and accessories (such as gloves, scarves or stockings) does have its conveniences. Having said this, I will be featuring images of a really cute floral dress that is suitable for the humid weather of Singapore in this post:

This lovely dress is perfect for a weekend brunch with family and friends as well as a relaxed and romantic outing with my husband. Being petite also means that I can look more youthful in a cute dress like this!

Hope you like this post and see you again soon! Have a great week ahead everyone.

A Pair Of Shorts That Look Like A Skirt

Fashion | November 13, 2014 | By

Do you love mini skirts but hate it when others stare at you when you have one on? Or are you afraid that you may accidentally show off more skin than you intend too due to a slip in your movements? I am one of those ladies who avoid wearing mini skirts due to the above reasons. Hence, I was really delighted when shorts with a skirt overlay (ie. skorts) become widely popular in Singapore where I currently reside. This kind of bottoms is really popular with local ladies as they are usually very comfortable to wear (allowing lots of freedom in movements) and looks very pretty as well!

Without further ado, below are more pictures of one of my favorite skorts due to its gorgeous prints, functional side pockets and high quality fabric.

Thanks for reading and hope you enjoy this post! See you again soon.

Casual Chic Fashion With "Men In Black"

Fashion | November 11, 2014 | By

When I first caught sight of these “Men in Black” a few months ago, I knew that I have to arrange for a photoshoot with these eye-catching statues! Just too interesting to miss in my opinion. The top I am wearing is one of my favorite staple pieces as it is so comfortable to wear with its wide sleeves and relaxed
fit. I also like the eye-catching blue palm leave prints on the top which is kind of unique. In general, I find this top to be one of those casual basics that goes very well with jeans and shorts.

Hope you enjoy this post and see you again soon.

Office Dresses For The Week

Fashion | November 8, 2014 | By

I believe that every lady can look pretty yet professional at the workplace with the right selection of apparels. Work/office appropriate skater or flare dresses are one of the best choices as they are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also suitable for almost any body shape. Just make sure the length of the dress is not too short and the fitting is right (i.e. not too tight or loose) and you are good to go!

Here are some of my personal picks for a whole week at work! Enjoy.

MONDAY
Monday Blues? Look great in a pretty blue floral dress and chase away any negativity!

TUESDAY
What should I wear today? When you can’t make up your mind, a classic monochrome number may be your best answer.

WEDNESDAY
In the mood for some accessorizing? A mono-color dress is perfect for this purpose! Love how the bright yellow floral necklace complements the crisp white eyelet dress so well.

THURSDAY
Looking for unique floral prints? The orchid is such a gorgeous flower yet it is seldom used as a print on dresses. I have found one that I simply adore!

FRIDAY
TGIF! It’s end of the work week as well as date night… Choose a sweet and pretty dress to charm your date and go for some retail therapy after!

Hope you enjoyed this post and see you again soon!

Formal and Casual Fashion in Blue and White

Fashion | November 6, 2014 | By

Blue and white are two of my favorite colors as they are really soothing and pleasing to the eyes. Just imagine the beautiful blue sky and white clouds we see in Summer and I believe you will get what I mean.

I believe the blue and white color combination works really well in fashion too as many of us look pretty good in these gentle and cool colors. Below are my picks for a formal and casual look respectively.

Formal Look:

This cute little cocktail number is suitable for occasions such as wedding dinners, company functions or parties. Definitely one of my favorite designs to wear as it is so flattering for my petite frame and I adore the serene contrast of the lovely blue shades on the pure white dress.

Casual Look:

This Korean-inspired cotton dress is my pick for a relax day out on the weekend as I really love the tie-able ribbon cut-out details at the sleeves as well as the classic stripe design on the skirt. The top part of the dress has a loose fit cutting so it is also comfortable to wear on a sunny day!

Hope you like both the formal and casual looks in this post as much as I do! See you again soon!
