In my last post, I covered a topic on how petites can wear oversized tops and maxi skirts without looking overwhelmed by all the extra fabric. I thought it will be a good idea to expound further on the topic of styles that petites are supposed to avoid based on mainstream opinion.
When it comes to fashion, there are many Do’s and Dont’s of wearing particular items for petites and other types of body shapes. While these tips can be very helpful and make complete sense, I see fashion as a creative form that is meant to be enjoyed and experienced. It is really fun to break the rules and just play with different looks. This is the best way to discover what suits you best, which inevitably helps in the manifestation of your personal style and taste. This process takes time and practice, but those who are adventurous and persistent in experimenting with a variety of styles will eventually cultivate a sharp eye for what works and what don’t.
A little black dress is a wardrobe essential but for ladies who adore a more edgy style, a black jumpsuit will make a more interesting choice. The design featured today is a piece I have owned for many years and it has never failed me. I had worn it to formal occasions such as black tie weddings, as well as to the office with a light blazer. It is highly versatile designs like this that stand the test of time and remain in my wardrobe year after year despite many rounds of spring cleaning.
Is it too much to claim that a wrap dress is the most flattering design any women can have?
Shirts are staple items in everyone’s wardrobe, no? I, for one, surely can’t live without them and I have a few pieces that go on rotation. Without further ado, let’s dive into the top 5 shirts which deserve a place in your closet.
Happy Monday everyone! I hope you had an awesome weekend and is having a great start to a new week.
I am someone who always have massive love for beautiful clothing but have grown fond of jewelry over the years. Well-designed jewelry can complement an outfit and make it stand out in dazzling style. In fact, some jewelry can totally steal the limelight, don’t you agree? While diamonds are always a girl’s best friend, gemstones like aquamarine and morganite can make stunning jewelry to wear too. Morganite (a peach-pink colored gemstone), in particular, is getting lots of attention at the JCK Las Vegas Jewelry Show as stated in this informative post. It makes an interesting read for lovers of pink gemstone so I’ll share it with you here!
Chinese New Year is coming up and I have been actively browsing through many Singapore based online stores for new clothes to add to my shopping cart. It is the tradition during this particular holiday to wear new clothes when visiting family and friends, which gives ladies of Chinese descent the excuse to shop (till we drop)! While I prefer to shop at bazaars, flea markets and giant brands such as Zara and Mango in the shopping malls, I do support local brands from time to time as well. Designs from well-known Singapore-based fashion online stores are usually quite stylish and most importantly, the good quality and highly affordable prices are very attractive. Petite-friendly pieces are common but a range of sizes is usually available too.
In this post, I have put together a list of popular Singapore-based online stores and categorized them according to the style most true to their respective brands, based on my personal observation. Most if not all of these stores provide international shipping so hope this list will be useful to you if you are interested in supporting Asian brands :)!
Happy Mid-Week everyone!
I have received numerous compliments about my lip colors recently so I thought I will share a quick review of the brand I am currently using. This brand is less known of to many of you as it is a Singapore-based cosmetic label that only started in 2014. Before this, I have never heard of or used any local cosmetic brands before, so I was a little skeptical about this brand initially.
Happy 2016 everyone! Hope you have had a great break during the Christmas and New Year holidays. Today’s post will be a quick recap of my #ootd on Christmas day and some of the lovely decorations in my residence and along the famous shopping district of Singapore’s Orchard Road.
